Welcome Dana!

Our *first ever* Director of Development

We’re so excited to introduce you all to Dana!

She has been in the non-profit field most of her career and was recently honored as a “40 under 40” recipient from the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. She comes to us from Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, NY, and has fundraising experience that includes the great organizations Make-A-Wish of Metro New York and Abilities First in Poughkeepsie. Dana is passionate about breaking the cycle of wasted food and food insecurity and is excited to help promote our mission and connect more community members and businesses to our work. We’re very grateful she’s now a part of our team, and we know she’ll help Second Chance Foods grow as an organization so together we can connect even more people to nourishing food.

"I love Second Chance Foods' mission of breaking the cycle of wasted food and food insecurity. It's so inspiring that one organization can address both of these huge issues-- and in doing so make so many peoples' lives better." - Dana

Dana joined our kitchen volunteers last Friday and was blown away! “To watch and be a part of the whole process is amazing. You’re solving a puzzle, saving food, and feeding people – it’s hard to put into words the feeling of seeing everything in action, but I loved it!” She even brought her dad along, who was visiting all the way from Ohio. He had a great time, too, and can’t wait to make volunteering with us a regular part of his visits.

"Getting to meet and work firsthand with Second Chance Foods volunteers has also been very exciting for me. Their hard work and dedication make the organization's work possible." - Dana
