A Celebration of Community

Our First Volunteer Potluck

Celebrating the incredible people who make this work possible  – Thank You to all our volunteers!

We had so much fun celebrating our volunteers last Sunday that we wanted to share the joy with you! It was a chilly day, but we couldn’t have asked for a better time enjoying time together “off the clock.”

Many thanks to everyone that made this event happen and shared their skills to make the day incredible. Especially our Operations Assistant, Ellen, who made special heat-pressed T-Shirts on site; volunteer Billy Flash performed music with Bill Hammond as Dos Bills to set the mood; and of course, Rich, our Board Treasurer, who graciously hosted everyone at his home!

It was a great day to thank some of our incredible volunteers – who in turn thanked *us* for creating the opportunity for them to give back and the community that’s grown through this work. Because that’s just the type of people they are.

Get Your Free Volunteer T-Shirt!

We want to make sure all our volunteers are able to get a t-shirt, even if missed the potluck! Must be able to pick up at our kitchen – 116 Federal Hill Rd, Brewster.

Interested? Email your order before June 17th to Ellen at Operations@SecondChanceFoods.org – please specify size/color (note below).

  • Mens Style – Green – Order usual size
  • Women’s Style – Royal blue or Turquoise – Runs small, recommended to size up by 1-2 sizes depending on desired fit

Save The Date!

Were you unable to join us last weekend? Don’t worry! It was such a fun event; we plan to host a few gatherings yearly to celebrate successes and build our volunteer community. Next time we’ll get a group photo too! Save the Date for a special fall Friendsgiving potluck November 19th hosted by Rich- more details to come!
